Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Day 5 Part 1 Off the Menu

Off the Menu

What do you think about this rule? Is it fair that people are charged up to $100 000 for overfishing?
On your blog, tell us what you think about this rule and why you think it!.
I think that people shouldn't be charged $100 000, because not everyone has $100 000 dollars and it seems like a lot of money. I'd say at least 50 000 dollars maybe.
If people make a mistake with fishing it wouldn't be fair to ask them to pay that much money.

Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Day 3 Part 1 Night Owls

Night Owls

On your blog, tell us whether you are a night owl or an early riser. Then, tell us about the rest of your family. Are they the same as you? .
I think I am an early riser because I like to wake up early and get on my computer.

My Brother would also be an early riser as he is the first awake every morning.

My Dad would probably be a night owl as he likes to stay up late.

My Mum is also a night owl as she has worked night shifts at the hospital for many years and is used to being awake all night.

Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Day 2 Part 2 Mighty Mangroves

Mighty Mangroves

My strong person is not actually a person it is one of my cats called Rogue. We have three kittens and one cat. Our cat Rogue always protects the kittens. Sometimes we get big cats and sometimes we get massive dogs that come on our driveway and try to chase the kittens but Rogue always protects them.
He is 16 years old and sleeps a lot but is brave when he needs to be.

Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Day 2 Part 1 Weaving a Tall Tale…

Weaving a Tall Tale

On your blog, tell us whether or not you would like to try flax weaving. Does it interest you? Why or why not?

I would not like to try flax weaving. The reason for this is because I am not good at those kinds of things.  I was never very good at art so it would be even harder and I would be worried that I would not do it right.  It looks very fiddly.

The Great Taupo Cycle Challenge

The people I would want on my team would be my brother Aedan, because he always ends up challenging me and I like being with him. The second person would be my Dad because he can bring me treats like lollies and cold drinks if I get thirsty. The final one would be my Mum because she will always help me if there is a problem.

Summer Learning Journey Week 2 Day 1 Part 1 Surfs Up!

Swimming with the Fish

Surfs Up!
On your blog, post a picture of yourself doing one of your favourite summer activities. Below the picture tell us what the activity is and tell us why it is one of your favourites.

My favourite thing to do in summer is play computer games.  I love playing games like Roblox and minecraft.  In these games I can play with loads of people from around the World and we can build your own games and activities.  In minecraft I can build entire worlds made up of houses, bridges and trees and huts.  It is my favourite thing to do over the summer holidays because it is really fun to play adventure games.  One of the only things that makes it more fun is when I play it with my Brother.

Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 5 Part 3 Going, going….gone

Going, going….gone
On your blog, post a description of life in New Zealand in 2018. Please remember that the people who read your post will have never been to New Zealand or even seen a picture so it is your job to ‘paint a picture’ of New Zealand using your words. You can also post pictures, if you wish. Be sure to fully attribute the pictures.

Life in New Zealand was great, it was sometimes sunny sometimes rainy but it was always a lovely day. Sometimes me and my dad would go out and have a walk around near where we lived and admire the beautiful nature while I played on my phone collecting Pokemon.
There were lots of trees and green lawns. People lived in houses that were made of bricks and wood with trampolines and swings in their gardens.
Some people grew vegetables in their gardens or flowers which made the bees come.
Overall New Zealand was a really great place.

Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 5 Part 1 Blink and You’ll Miss It

Towering Timber

On your blog tell us whether you think logging should be allowed in New Zealand. Be sure to provide at least two reasons to support your argument.

1. I think that logging should be allowed because kids need to use paper for school for stuff like handwriting. It's also important that we have wood to build houses with.

2. My other reason is that they probably have a family they need to feed. Where I live we have a lot of native trees and people who work as loggers.

Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 4 Part 3 Salt and Pepper.

Salt and Pepper

If I was building a hotel what I would do is make a massive Candy Land  The hotel would be made of ginger bread. Then what I would do is get some candy cane supports to hold the ginger bread hotel up so it didn't collapse.
