Dear Aedan [my brother]
I have just boarded the waka and we have just set sail. It will be a long trip to New Zealand to celebrate your birthday. I am feeling worried that the weather will be bad and make the waka turn over and I might die. I hope it doesn't rain as I don't want to get too wet.
See you soon,
From Hamish
Kia ora Hamish,
ReplyDeleteYour letter structure looks great! You have greeted the person you are writing to, talked about your experience on the waka and ended the letter with your name - fantastic work.
Have you thought about what it might be like with the other people in the waka? I've never been in a waka before, but I have flown on a plane to Thailand. I remember it was quite crowded on the plane and a few rows in front of me, there was a little crying baby! I felt sorry for the Mum of the baby because she looked very tired. I don't think she got to sleep much the entire journey until we arrived to Thailand!
I look forward to reading more of your blog posts,
Noho ora mai,
Emiely :)
