Maui

Reason 1 The fish that Maui caught turned into the north island. Reason 2 The canoe that Maui had turned into the south island. Reason 3   Maui made his own fishing rod out of flax.

  1. Kia ora Hamish,

I can see you have been keeping busy by making a fantastic start to the Summer Learning Journey – well done! I like the way you have chosen three specific facts from the myth that all tell me different things. Next time are you able to make the title the activity you are doing? For example "Day 1, Activity 1". This will help me know which activity you are blogging about so I can keep track of your blogs.

Your first two facts were definitely my favourites after I read the myth of 'Maui and the giant fish'. What kind of person do you think Maui is? I think he would have to be quite strong to be able to catch a fish as big as the North Island!

    Noho ora mai,
    Emiely :)

  2. Hi Hamish!

My name is Ellee and I work alongside Emiely and Allie commenting on blogs for the Summer Learning Journey!

I hope you have had a lot of fun over the Christmas and New Years break?

I really enjoyed your three facts about Maui, great job. I like reading about Maui and his different adventures, he was a pretty cool dude!
Do you have a favourite part of the story?
I liked the part where one of the brothers got mad at the other for weighing down the boat telling him he had eaten too much kumara!

Keep up the great work with your blog Hamish, looks like you are powering through the activities!

    Ellee :)
