WALTdevelop our own poem in response to a model ( packing my bag for.... by
James Norcliffe)
Walt use an increasingly descriptive vocabulary to add intrest to our writing.
Walt have some fun and be creative with ideas and imagination.
One Creepy gas mask so I don’t breath in deadly radiation dauntly staring
at everything  hoping to lessen it’s courage.
I will need one big white radiation suit with triple layers equipped
with an extra big black gas mask
I will need 4 sample glasses so I can get radiation as well as do tests
on
                                                                       myself
                                                         Incase I get radiation.
One reasonably big yellow geiger counter to detect where the
                                             BIGGEST radiation spikes are.
I will need one sharp bladed machete to defend myself in case
Any big green pulsating mutants attack.
And I will need one big light brown rope
To help me climb up buildings and
                                                              hills/mountains.
And lastly I will need one guide to ensure
                                                   that I don't painfully perish.

A brief statement of your view about the topic.  What you believe or want to argue.
Hi I’m here to talk to you about why I believe parents and kids should play more online games. Continue reading and you will find out why.
Series of Arguments
Reasons
Your points supporting your view about the topic.  Your arguments to support your statement and
information to support these arguments.

Remember

-supporting details, reasons, examples

Firstly, gaming doesn’t have to be defined by gory bloody and inappropriate language and images. Because there are games that are good for kids such as the games that help them learn math, geography, space, history and many more different subjects. One example for a game is called Adventure Academy a game made by Walt Disney which has quest adventures and you can also talk to your friends.

Secondly, Gaming is a great way for kids to express their imagination. Games can help kids express their creativity and imagination to create amazing things on games such as Minecraft a multiplayer, survival/adventure game which doesn’t have gravity except for blocks like sand and gravel.
It also proves other career opportunities such as you can enter in building competitions and win awards and money as well as have a fun time.

Thirdly, Gaming can help you find new friends and help you to interact with other people and to have fun. There is also career opportunities including becoming youtubers and learning coding and creating games.

Concluding statement
Summing it up.  A summary of your arguments and your view on the topic.

Finally, that is why I believe that you should play online games at a young age and old because you can learn different subjects and make big contraptions as well as just meet new friends and find new career opportunities.

Toki Pounamu Film Festival

Toki Pounamu Film Festival
Recently we went to the Toki Pounamu Film Festival at the Regent Theatre in
Greymouth. It was where local schools presented their own films based around
our land. My favourite film was the crime related one because it was based
around a pretend crime which had a robber who had robbed a bank and two
“cops”. It had good shots, camera angles, lighting and colour. It had good music,
speech and dialogue and good sound effects. It was filmed in a good location,
aka a big open field and it had an ok set, props and costumes. It had decent
editing and good visual effects.

My Kiwi Collage

We have been learning to make a collage on Google Drawing. We had use the explore, mask and arrange tools to get our collage to come together. We had to make a NZ bird and put it into it's habitat. It was a lot of fun and I am really pleased with my bird. Have you ever had a go at this?

Animation Practise

Today we were learning to make animations using slides images and a background. We also had to change some of the code to make it better. We had to change the animation loop from false to true. We also had to change the speed so that it changed the slides. Hope you like my animation. :D

Weta Report - Term 3

This is a piece of writing that we did for our mini beast topic when we were learning about Weta. We had to write an imformation report on this insect.

Click here to see our success criteria.

The Spectacularly Spicy Weta Of Aoteroa

What is a Weta?

Weta are one of the native insects to New Zealand/Aoteroa.  The Weta is as old
as the dinosaur age and it is the only one that survived.

Wetas physical features
Weta are invertebrates and they have an exoskeleton. An invertebrate is an
animal that has its skeleton on the outside which is called an exoskeleton. They
dont have a spine. Weta look similar to crickets. They have six legs. They
have two antennae. They have ears just below the front joint of their knees.

Wetas Habitat and Location
Some tusked weta live on/in the ground and some weta live inside trees. Ground
weta live in burrows in the ground. Cave weta live in sea coast caves and hollow tree
trunks while giant weta live in island sanctuary. These are the main places weta live.

Feeding Behaviour
Weta like to eat carrots. Weta also like to eat fruit. Most weta are predators or are
omnivores preying on other insects and eating some plants.
The tree weta and the giant weta mostly eat lichens, leaves, flowers, seed-heads
and fruit. Weta feed and eat at night.

Social Behaviour
They like to live in groups, and make their homes in the hollow parts of trees.
Tree wētā communicate by scraping their hind legs against the side of their
body, making a chirping sound. Male weta are also aggressive.

Threats
Weta have evolved with predators such as birds, reptiles, and bats. The
introduction of rats, mustelids,( mustelids are part of the weasel family) cats
and hedgehogs have increased the amount of predation. Humans have been
decreasing their habitats. If we want Weta to live more we need to make more
habitats.
Here is an image

Ending Weta are cold blooded insects. There are different types of Weta. Weta are
endangered. So be careful not to KILL Weta when youre outside or in the bush.
