Week 4 Day 4 Part 2

Activity 2: Country Calendar

I think being a farmer would be interesting and challenging because if you were growing crops or incubating eggs you would have wait a long time for them to grow and hatch. I think it would be nice to work with animals but not when it is very wet and cold outside.

I would not like to be a farmer because it would be very hard work and I would have to do the work every single day without getting a day off.

Maui has a magic fishhook that gives him special powers but it gets damaged and doesn't work anymore.  When they rescue Te Fiti she fixes his fishhook for him.

Week 4 Day 3 Part 2

Activity 2: Migration

Image result for Greymouth NZ

My hometown Greymouth, New Zealand.

Things that tourists could do in Greymouth.

2. Visit the beach which is in walking distance to most places in Greymouth.
3. You can go to Karoro school to learn things like I do.

Week 4 Day 3 Part 1

Activity 1: Mixed-Member Proportional (MMP)

Imagine that you had to form a coalition government with two other people.  Who would you choose to partner with?

Week 4 Day 2 Part 2

Activity 2: Sporting Heroes

On your blog tell us about your sporting hero. Who are they? Why are they a hero? Include a photo of them in your blog post.

Image result for Tony Wilding – tennis player

Anthony "Tony" Frederick Wilding (31 October 1883 – 9 May 1915) was a former world No. 1 tennis player from Christchurch, New Zealand, and a soldier killed in action during World War I. Wilding was the son of wealthy English immigrants to New Zealand and enjoyed the use of private tennis courts at their home.

He is a hero because he was put into the international Tennis Hall of fame in 1978 and he had the Wilding tennis racket named after him.

Week 4 Day 2 Part 1

Activity 1: Chasing Great

Three things that I learned about Richie that I didn't know is that he is a keen pilot and in 2009 he was made an honorary squadron leader of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. He had a troubling foot injury and missed some Rugby in 2012 because of it. He reminded the World of his brilliance as a leader when he lifted the Webb Ellis Cup in 2011 although he was battling with his foot injury at the time.

What else would you like to know about Richie?
I would also like to know what he eats for Breakfast and what was his favourite subject at school.

Week 4 Day 1 Part 2

Activity 2: Lord of the Rings

If I was lucky enough for someone to give me $300 million dollars I would spend it by giving $150 million to charity because it is a lot of money and I would not be able to spend it all. I would save some in the bank until I could decide what to spend it on. If I was to spend it on something right now I would buy little kitten clothes and toys for my new kitten Cotton and her sister Bubbles.

Week 4 Day 1 Part 1

Before going out on a big hike you should remember to check on the weather and make sure it is a good day to go. You should tell someone you are going and when you will be back. You should take the right supplies with you.

Week 3 Day 4 Part 1

Activity 1: Hairy Maclary

“Out of the gate and off for a walk went Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy…”

He went to visit the Vet to taunt all the cats who were there. He shook his tail at them through the window and then looked for all the dogs at the Vets too. He took them some bags of dog food that he found inside the Vets when the people weren't looking.
Then he went to find some of his friends and play in the park. They chased some of the cats there and made them run up the trees. After this they went to the Barbers shop to see if they could get their hair cut as they were hot in the sun. The Barber's shop was not busy and they had time to get their hair cut and then they visited the toy shop and secretly stole some toys to play with in the park.
They had a squeaky bone toy and a rubber ball.
Rain clouds started to appear in the sky so they all said goodbye and went home to sleep.

Week 3 Day 3 Part 2

Activity 2: Bell Bottom Pants

I don't like them because they don't look nice. I don't like the male shirt because I don't like plain shirts. I like the male pants because I like patterns. I like the female shirt because I like bright colours.

Week 3 Day 3 Part 1

Activity 1: Ready to Roll

My rating for the music videos is

1. Ray Columbus and the Invaders
2. Golden Harvest
3. New Zealand Underdogs.

I picked number 1 as my favourite because I thought it was very crazy. I did not like number 3 because i didn't think the singing was very good.

Activity 2: What’s in a Name?

BOYS                             GIRLS

Charlie                             Emma
Nathan                             Summer
 David                              Poppy

These are the most popular names in my school that I know of.
The boys names are similar to names on the list from the 1950's while the girls are names are not.

Week 3 Day 1 Part 1

Day 1: White Picket Fences (The 1950s)

I think the meat and three veg rule is a good rule because it gives you healthy food and if there is enough quantity it will fill you up.
I don't like the rule because I like to eat different food every night and I like things like pizza, pasta and bacon.
I would be okay to eat a meat and veg dinner but not every night as I wouldn't want the same thing every night.

Week 2 Day 5 Part 2

Activity 2: Making a Fashion Statement

The clothes are not the same. They are made of very different fabrics and men only wear suits for special occasions or special jobs now. Women don't always wear dresses and only wear hats and gloves for very special occasions.
I prefer to wear what I wear now because you can wear whatever you want and it is more comfortable.

In the year 2083 I think people will wear clothes that can change the temperature if you are hot or cold. They will be made out of any colour and can change colour when they get hot or cold.

Week 2 Day 5 Part 1

Activity 1: VE Day!

For my VE party I would invite all of my friends, my parents and my brother Aedan.
I would have the party at the beach. We would have fish and chips, potato chips and lemonade to drink. We would play volleyball at the beach and build sandcastles.
Hopefully everyone would have fun.

Week 2 Day 4 Part 2

My VC Winner.

Sergeant James Allen Ward, RNZAF (attached to RAF)

Date of action: 7 July 1941 (over The Netherlands)
Date of award: 5 August 1941
James Ward was the first New Zealand airman to win the VC. The Whanganui-born schoolteacher joined the RNZAF in July 1940 and left for Great Britain to serve with the RAF after completing his pilot training. He won his VC while returning from a raid on the German city of Münster on 7 July 1941. When his Vickers Wellington bomber was set alight by an enemy fighter plane, Ward climbed out onto the burning wing (several thousand feet in the air) and smothered the fire. Although he was unable to block the leaking petrol pipe that was feeding it, the fire eventually burnt itself out and the badly damaged bomber limped back to base.  Because of this he saved the lives of 6 people on board the plane.

Week 2 Day 4 Part 1

Day 4: Another World War (1939-1945)

Choose two key events and find out some more information about what happened on those days.

Event 1. 13th September 1940 Italians invade Egypt.

The Italian invasion of Egypt was done by Italy against forces from the Commonwealth and Britain. The goal of the invasion was to seize control of the Suez Canal. The 10th Army advanced into Egypt.

Event 2. 16th December 1940 Egypt cleared of Italian forces.

This is the date that Egypt was cleared of Italian forces. There were a lot of people who were injured and died but most of the tanks survived.

Week 2 Day 3 Part 1

Watching videos helps me relax because then I focus on them instead of what makes me stressed.
